Apartments in Croatia for family holidays
If you are going for holidays in Croatia with the whole family and plan to stay more than two weeks, then it is better to rent private apartments or a house.
However, you must carefully choose the suitable apartments in Croatia for your family. You need to start the search in January or February, because the best apartments can be booked long before the season starts. If you would contact the owners, for example, in May or June, the vacant rooms for July and August will be gone.
When choosing the apartments in Croatia for family holidays you should consider the following:
- the number of rooms and beds for adults and children,
- distance from the beach,
- distance from the nearest store,
- remoteness from health center,
- presence of restaurants in vicinity,
- presence of playgrounds and other amusements for your children.
You need to decide which region of Croatia is more suitable for your family holidays. The Adriatic coast is very extended, there are more crowded resorts with large hotels and entertainment facilities, but also, there are quiet and secluded villages with a good selection of private apartments for rent and nice beaches, but poor entertainment. The choice is yours!
Apartments in Istria
If you want to spend your holidays in Istria, keep in mind that there is not such a big choice of private apartments. The beaches are mainly concrete, rocky and pebble, but there are also sand, for example, in Medulin. To find accommodation close to the sea, you need to contact the owner in advance and transfer a prepayment in the amount of 10-30%.
Apartments in Middle Dalmatia
The best places for holidays with children in Middle Dalmatia are considered the resorts of Makarska Riviera, city of Trogir and island of Brac. Here is a very large selection of private apartments and houses in the vicinity of the best pebble and sandy beaches. Prices are not much more expensive than in Istria, prior booking and partial prepayment are also required.
Those who prefer relaxing holidays are better to choose the Makarska Riviera. It's a long string of small towns, almost entirely composed of the private apartments by the sea, stretching along the best beaches in the region. The most popular resorts in the area of Makarska Riviera are Brela, Baska Voda, Tucepi, Podgora. There are no noisy entertainment and big cities, but if you rent a car, you can visit Omis, Split, Trogir, Dubrovnik, Plitvice Lakes and see the waterfalls on the Krka river.
Trogir and Brac island are located closer to Split, and therefore closer to the entertainment, shopping centers, discos, but here you can also relax in the silence of untouched nature. The largest selection of apartments is on Ciovo island in Trogir, it just consists of private apartments and houses for rent, while here are the best pebble and sandy beaches in Split region.
Apartments in Dubrovnik
Those who like to visit the most famous tourist attraction of Croatia - Dubrovnik city, it would be advisable to choose an apartments in the immediate vicinity of Dubrovnik, as well as in Cavtat or Mlini. From these small towns you can easily get to Dubrovnik in just 15-20 minutes. The cost of living here is higher than in other coastal regions of Croatia, but the proximity of Dubrovnik and the opportunity to visit the neighboring islands (Korcula, Mljet, Lopud) are worth it. A great choice of pebble and sandy beaches, such as the beaches on the Lopud island, will delight children and adults.
