Moscenicka Draga Travel Guide
Moscenicka Draga, Croatia, is a popular tourist settlement and a harbour in the Kvarner Bay with a long pebble beach, stretching along the coast. Located on the main road connecting Pula and Rijeka, this place can be reached from Pula Airport (70 km) or from Rijeka Airport (56 km).
In the past it used to be a fishing port serving the town of Mošćenice, situated on the mountain above the sea.
Those interested in the history of the town should go to the Hotel Marina, where it is represented.
Beaches. The town is graced with some splendid beaches. The best one of them is 2 km long Sipar pebble beach with a few restaurants, shops and bars. There is also a small naturists pebble beach of Senjavac, surrounded by cliffs and rocks. If you are lucky, you will see the dolphins.
Restaurants. Such popular places as Johnson, Perun, Rubin, Konoba "Na Rivi" kod Benito, Bistro Plaza, Bistro Dora are the restaurants where you can enjoy local delicacies, fresh seafood and vegetables. Nightlife lovers can spend a time in small konobas and bars of the town. If you are looking for noisy discos and night clubs, it is better to visit the nearby town of Opatija during your Moscenicka Draga travel.
Festivals and cultural events. Although the town is small, some fabulous cultural events are organized here during the summer season. The major happening is the Fishermen Night held at the harbor with the traditional barbecue, music and fireworks. If you happen to be in Moscenicka Draga in winter, don't miss the festivities organized on Ash Wednesday. Those who visit this town in October cannot miss the Chestnut Festival, a fascinating culinary event.
Active vacations. This region is a real paradise for divers, with two diving schools providing dive trips to the most unusual shipwreck sites. If your Moscenicka Draga holidays fall on winter months, you can take up the challenge of skiing on the Ucka Mountain (1,396 m), where some ski trails are available.
